Our Mission

At Robstown Young Futures, we empower young minds and nurture resilient spirits through comprehensive prevention and intervention programs. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where children and teens, ages 7-17, can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. We focus on holistic development through our unique Joy Building Program, which integrates early brain development principles, Triple P Parenting strategies, engaging sports, personalized tutoring, and innovative nutrition guidance. Through mentoring, counseling, and specialized programs like Reaching Teens, we foster meaningful connections and equip families with the tools they need to cultivate joy, resilience, and lifelong success. Together, we are building a brighter future for the next generation, one joyful step at a time.

Edward Borchard

M.D., F.A.A.P.

A cornerstone of the Robstown medical community for over 28 years, Dr. Borchard brings a lifetime of passion for child development to Robstown Young Futures. As a board-certified pediatrician and owner of Tots and Teens in Robstown and Corpus Christi, he has dedicated his career to the health of the next generation. His leadership extends far beyond the clinic; as the former Chairman of Avance and a former board member of Success by 6 with the United Way, he has long been a champion for early childhood success. When he isn't teaching the next generation of doctors at Driscoll Children's Hospital or leading our nonprofit mission, Dr. Borchard is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Velma, are the proud parents of two adult children, Sean and Lauren. Dr. Borchard’s vision for Robstown Young Futures is simple: ensuring every child in our community has the same opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.
