Our Mission
Our mission is to create a supportive environment where children and teens (ages 0-21) thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Through our Joy Building Program, we integrate early brain development principles, Triple P Parenting strategies, engaging sports, tutoring, and nutrition guidance.
We foster meaningful connections through mentoring, counseling, and programs like Reaching Teens, equipping families with the tools for lifelong success. Together, we are building a brighter future for the next generation—one joyful step at a time

Our Founder
I’m a board-certified pediatrician and proud graduate of the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Residency Program, class of 1998. For the past 25 years, I’ve served families through private practice, with a deep commitment to child wellness and community advocacy. I’ve had the honor of serving as Chairman of the AVANCE–Corpus Christi Chapter and as a member of Success by 6, supporting early childhood initiatives.
My passion lies in early brain development, with a focus on preventing toxic stress in the family environment. My mission is to help every infant, child, and adolescent build resilience by promoting strong brain and physical health.

Our Vision
Robstown Young Futures envisions a thriving community where people of all ages have access to opportunities for growth, connection, and lifelong learning. Through our Community Complex, we offer year-round programs in sports, wellness, arts, and education—empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential.
“Water the flower, not the weed. This gives attention to the positive we want to grow in our children. We use this methodology in our practice, past soccer programs that led to national recognition, and will continue to do so to transform the youth of Robstown.”
Dr. Edward Borchard Pediatrician, Board President
Our Path
The Robstown Young Futures Community Complex is in the renovation process and seeking support. The complex sits on 5.85 acres. The facility once served as an after-school center, but closed in 2015. Since that time, the community has not had access to after-school services and has very limited youth programs. At present, no facility exists in the community that offers active programming for resident growth and development. Having a community center shows a direct correlation to improvements in the quality of life and overall well-being of an individual, leading to economic prosperity, infrastructure development, education access, and improved health and wellness. The center will provide equity and access to a higher quality of life for the community of Robstown, TX.
